Overview

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is often used to treat migraines, neck pain and spasms, and TMJ pain, painful Bruxism/grinding teeth, and painful persistent piriformis muscle spasm by blocking chemical signals that cause muscle contractions and transmit pain, effectively relaxing overactive muscles and reducing nerve irritation. It inhibits the release of neurotransmitters including CGRP, Glutamate and Substance P involved in pain signaling, essentially interrupting the nerve feedback loop that triggers migraines and chronic pain.
